I love the LEDs and the magnetic attachments for diffusing light. It works well with my sigma art 70 mm macro lens on the 49mm filter thread. The reason why it’s not five stars is because I cannot attach a magnification (ie x2) as well to the lens with this light. I have used the light by hand, which easily comes on and off the front Filter thread. Another reason why it’s not five stars is because on the occasion, it has had flash sync issues when shooting at 1/125 shutter speed. Lastly, the parts are not the top-tier quality that you can expect from paying top-tier prices, like canon’s Speed lights. This flash is definitely worth the price. The only other feature I wish it had is to work with canon’s RT remote trigger, so I can combine it with multiple flashes. Below is a picture of a praying mantis taken with my macro lens and the flash.

Not sure how it compares to the canon macro flash, but it definitely works wonders, including an ETKL mode. Fits my sigma 70 mm macro lens, which still operates an auto focus.
