I've used it for product videos (sliding across a tabletop) and for landscape timelapses, pulling focus slowly over two feet. The slider is easy to use, with full control, and also programming via a phone app. For a portable, cordless slider, the build is impressive: carbon fibre, lightweight yet sturdy, and the overall quality is very good. The motor is powerful and exceptionally quiet — my on‑board mic doesn't pick up any whine during panning shots. It runs on a standard Sony NP‑F battery, and battery life is solid. I've shot for several hours without needing a recharge. The carry case feels sturdy and is well‑padded, with custom foam cutouts that hold everything securely. This setup is perfect for professional shoots, giving me reliable, smooth motion wherever I need it. Overall, this is a practical, easy-to-use, good value, and as described motorised camera slider. I would highly recommend it to any shooter who needs professional, smooth motion shoots away from mains power.

This is a serious accessory that is perfect if you are interested in time lapse photography, or if you want to take your video-making to the next level. It is essentially a "camera slider" that moves your camera back and forward automatically and through the app control that gives you various settings. The motor is quiet enough that it isn't picked up (as far as I can hear) on my camera's mic, while also giving you speeds suitable for both filming and for the likes of long panoramas. The slider is a good size, and you could use it to showcase products or for the likes of detailed inspections works - where you need a very steady video. It is lightweight but appears solid and strong enough to support up to a rather sizable 5kg (granted I feel it may struggle more as you get close to this.) I would suggest for the best results that you mount this on a good heavy duty tripod (or ideally two) while remembering to check the maximum weight of those tripods. For a mid-level photographer, content creator and such - this would be great and it doesn't break the bank considering how well it functions. I would have liked a remote control included, but the absence of one isn't a deal breaker (as you could always buy a 2.4Ghz remote if you feel you need one.) Give yourself some time to get used to how this functions and what you can do with it and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'm a big fan of the NEEWER brand. They have great products at reasonable prices. This slider is no exception. It came in a nice carrying case which makes it so convenient. Although there were instructions for assembly, what I received was already pre-assembled. I love that it already came with a battery and to my surprise, the battery had a USB-C port so you can charge it directly without using a charger. It came with a USB-C cable, but I just used my phone charger.You may indeed use the slider as-is since there are 4 fold out legs that you can rest on a desktop. However, for ultimate versatility I highly recommend using a tripod with a slider stabilizer (which NEEWER also sells) which will not only stabilize, but also allow a variety of configurations. I'm new to videography and even neewer (ha!) to using sliders, but setup was fairly simple:1. Attach slider to tripod with included ball head to a tripod with stabilizers.2. Attach camera and insert fully charged battery.3. Use the NEEWER app on smartphone as a remote.Bluetooth connection to the app was quick and The slider was very responsive to the app controls. I was impressed at how smooth and quiet the motor functioned. There were also cables included in case you wanted to hook it up to your camera to do time lapse. The app calculates everything for you. I have yet to try that function, but very excited to use in future projects!
