NEEWER MG01 Magnetic Phone Camera Grip

I read the reviews about the setup problems before I bought it, but bought it anyway. It did activate the shutter on my Google pixel 10 pro, but not the zoom. Asked Chat GPT about this and it suggested Trying the Free Open camera app and the free Black magic camera app. The Open camera app worked instantly for stills and video with some very cool features. The Black Magic camera app is mainly for video, but works really well. If you buy this device and have an Android phone I would recommend the Open camera app.

I picked this up to make shooting photos and videos with my phone a little more comfortable, and it does a surprisingly good job of giving that camera-like feel.The grip is comfortable to hold and provides a much more secure feel than trying to hold a phone by itself, especially when recording video or taking a lot of photos. The magnetic attachment is strong and keeps the phone firmly in place.Not tapping the screen to take a picture means the phone moves less when you take a picture which helps take clearer pictures as well. It's a small difference but one I'll gladly take.I also like the built-in battery. Having extra power available is always useful when you're using your phone heavily for photos or video. The detachable remote is another nice feature and came in handy for group shots and tripod use.Build quality feels solid, and everything has a more premium feel than I expected.Overall, this is a great accessory if you use your phone as your primary camera and want something that improves handling while adding a few useful features.

Enjoyed the Camera Grip for comfort and ease of use. The battery only charged my iPhone once and it was almost drained. Also, the zoom function of the grip does not work on the iPhone.

I purchased this to use with my Google Pixel 10 pro and the basic functions seemed to work okay. The "pixelsnap" technology works with the magsafe connection and is pretty strong.The battery bank is a nice touch to keep the phone charging while you use it but can possibly cause your phone to overheat if you are using it outside and charging at the same time.The grip seems to have more features with iphones but is advertised as comptaible with Samsung (and presumably Android) but I was able to get only the remote function to work and not much else.It might be better for iPhone but this seems like it is just a remote and power bank for an Android phone.

This is pretty cool. I love the quality of it too. Connecting it to the phone is easy. Once you get to snapping, it is a breeze.I do have a complaint. The MagSafe is not very strong. These phones today are a little heavy for such a weak magnet array. Honestly, I do not understand why it isn’t the very strongest. They are asking you to mount a 1-2000 dollar phone to it. It should be difficult to remove. Also, there material isn’t very “non-slip”. You want it to be a secure as possible.You can counter this by using a case that does have an extremely strong MagSafe, and it would certainly help out.It has a standard tripod mount on the bottom.I forgot to mention the MagSafe is double sided, you can mount addition devices to the other side, as seen in on of the photos I attached. I put on a kick stand to demonstrate. I am sure is is for a microphone are additional light.
