Dramatic Studio Lighting | Low-Key Bridal Portraits

Shooting bridal portraits in a studio can let you experiment with your lighting, letting you create some very dynamic frames that might be difficult to get if you were out on location somewhere. Today, we will be making a simple lighting setup with one strobe, but we are going to get a really dynamic & dramatic looking photo out of it.

High-Key Studio Lighting

Being able to shoot elegant bridal portraits in a studio setting can create a lot of opportunities for photographers, as most variables are able to be controlled. Today we are going to look at a high-key lighting scenario, exclusively using flash/strobe units.

Four-Point Lighting Explained

Four-point lighting takes what we've learned from our three-point lighting setup, and adds a fourth light! Four point lighting will build off of our existing three light setup, consisting of the key light, fill light, and back light. With a fourth light, we can make our frames more interesting in a variety of different ways.

Three Point Lighting Techniques

Three point lighting can be considered the foundation of all lighting scenarios; meaning this is what we would build off of, or take away from, in order to create different looks. Today we'll take a deeper look at setting up our key light, fill light, and accent light to create a simple look that can be applied to many scenarios.
